Special Needs Trusts
SPECIAL PLANNING FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE™
A trust established for the assets of a person with a disability. It is frequently used on behalf of persons with disabilities to receive an inheritance from parents or other relatives who did not plan properly or to receive the proceeds from a personal injury settlement without disqualifying them from MA , SSI or other governmental benefits. When the beneficiary dies, the trust proceeds must be used to repay the State of Minnesota for benefits provided. (See MDHS Manual)
